 WARNING - Scam Alert!

We've been notified of a probable scam that has been hitting some of us who have posted items for sale the past month or so.

A Classified Ad 'poster' warned us about this one:

He had recently posted an ad for a bike on this webpage. Since then he has received many emails from a person who says they are interested buying in the bike. Another rider, who also posted an ad on our page, emailed him and notified him of a scam that is taking place with some of the ads being posted. The scammer will send a email that is worded like this:

Hello, My name is Mr. Jones.

After much surfing on the web I came across an advert about your bike for sale I have been searching for this type of bike that matches the description you gave about it, so without
further delay I would like to purchase it for my own personal use. I really need it. I am willing to pay for it and do you also have pictures available.

If interested in selling pls reply back with the price.

Yours Sincerely . . . .

Apparently, a few of the people posting ads have gotten exact or very similar copies of the email. If you reply back to "Mr. Jones", he will say that he is sending a cashier's check via FedEx for the price of the bike plus shipping. He then wants you to Western Union your bike to his "International Shipping Company in the USA". Two weeks later your bank
realizes the check is fake, your bike has already been shipped, and the bank then forces you to pay the entire amount back to them.

Just a simple warning:

Never ship a "sold" item until the buyer's check has cleared your bank or you have verified the funds or the credit card info.
